I am Soumitra from Canberra, Australia. My passion as you can see and listen to is music Having had vocal training early in my childhood from my mother i have grown up listening to the likes of Kishore Kumar and Mohd. Rafi and more recently the likes of Shaan and the living legend Sonu Nigam. I also have been taking voice training from famous tenor David Reedy in Canberra since the last two years to further improve my vocal capabilities.
Winning awards through school and heading the Music Club in college I have sung in various stage shows in Calcutta and also in Bombay where i used to work. After having migrated to Australia i have performed in various community shows in Canberra namely Diwali Mela,Friendship Fair & Id Mela to list a few. I have also been invited and have performed in ticketed events such as Ek Sher Ek Nagma, Bongo Sanskriti Utsav(National Gallery of Australia), Zeeshan Nite, Jewels of Bengal, Yeh Shaam Mastani , Saaz Aur Awaaz.
I have performed interstate in Perth and in many shows in Sydney eg. Gems of Bengal (Burwood Town Hall, Sydney) ,Surmayi Shaam(Strathfield Town Hall, Sydney) and various charity nights with Saaz orchestra.
I have also performed internationally in Fiji in the cities of Lautoka and Labasa.
Although i do programs to raise money for charity i would be happy to help you out if you need to organize a bollywood musical program for any occassion.
